Three people were reportedly injured in a shooting at Timberview High School in Arlington on Wednesday morning.

Arlington Police confirmed that the school shooting started as a brawl between a student and another individual at around 9:15 a.m.

Three people were taken to hospital, two of them with gunshot wounds. A pregnant teacher was also injured in a fall but was treated at the scene, police said.

The shooter, identified as 18-year-old Timothy George Simpkins, allegedly fled school in a silver 2018 Dodge Charger with the Texas license plate PFY6260 after the shooting.

Several agencies, including the US Marshals, are looking for him. He is to be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

“I have no doubts that the shooter is not on the scene. I have no doubts that there was only one shooter at this school,” said Deputy Chief Kevin Kolbye of the Arlington Police Department. “Our hearts go out to the injured and to all the students who went through the traumatic event at this school.”

The SKY 4 video showed a large presence of police, firefighters and paramedics at the school.

The Mansfield Independent School District said the campus was placed on lockdown during the incident. All students and staff were locked in their classrooms and offices, and no visitors were allowed on campus.

Arlington Police said they were working with other nearby law enforcement agencies and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to methodically search and clean the school.

Once cleared, students will be transported by bus to the Mansfield Performing Arts Center to reunite with their parents.

“I just got home from work. I was trying to relax when I got this text from my daughter,” said Akhere Isenalumhe, whose daughter is in second grade. “We’re all confused. We just don’t know what’s going on. It’s just too close to home. We never thought something like this would happen here in our backyard.”

The school is located in the city of Arlington but in the Mansfield School District.
