Rookie Justin Fields will remain the Chicago Bears starting quarterback this season, coach Matt Nagy said on Wednesday.
Nagy had previously said veteran Andy Dalton would return to the starting position once he was healthy enough to return from a knee injury that sidelined him for the past two weeks.
Fields led the Bears to a 24-14 victory over the Detroit Lions last Sunday in their second start of the season.
So far this season, Fields has completed 25 of 52 attempted passes (48.1%) for 347 yards and two interceptions. He also ran for 55 yards and a touchdown.
