The 2022 Ford Mustang will have a Stealth Edition, special California versions

Ford said this wednesday that he would have two new versions for his Mustang: a (first edition!) Stealth Edition, and also a California Special but with the GT Performance Package. Sorry, the full name of the Stealth Edition is the Stealth Edition Skin Pack. Ford has apparently looked at all of the different trims that Dodge makes for the Challenger and Charger and decided they wanted to participate as well.

The Stealth Edition appearance package – seriously, who thought the name was a good idea, simply calling it Stealth Edition would have been perfectly fine – includes a blacked-out front and rear, as well as blacked-out wheels. The rear lights are white. Like that:

The California Special, meanwhile, can now be ordered withwith the GT Performance Package for the first time. That means stiffer suspension, Brembo brakes and bigger tires for those with plans to take their California Special ‘Stang to the track. The California Special also has, of course, a special badge.

The heritage-inspired “GT / CS” side stripe trademark stretches from the front fender to the iconic rear fender scoop. A California Special badge in Ebony Black and Race Red adorns the trunk lid, while the honeycomb grille with “GT / CS” badge offers a unique look. A larger front splitter from the GT Performance package underscores the icon’s handling prowess.

A performance rear spoiler from the GT Performance Package is available for the fastback model, while spoiler removal is standard for the California Special convertible. The California Special wears unique 19-inch painted machined five-spoke wheels. Under the hood, this Special Edition features a signature strut tower brace with a California Special badge atop its 5.0-liter V8 engine.

Ford hasn’t revealed pricing for either version, though it’s probably in the 1930s, maybe even over $ 40,000. I guess all the hype (created by Ford!) About the Mustang Mach-E was getting too much and the Blue Oval thought everyone needed to remember that the regular Mustang still exists too.
