The problems facing Ole Miss’s offensive line after a poor performance last week in Alabama may have been compounded. According to sources, starting left goalie Caleb Warren will undergo surgery Thursday morning to repair three damaged ligaments in one of his ankles. Warren started eight games for the Rebels last season and had been a mainstay as a left guard starter this season.

The injury occurred during training this week, sources said.

The good news is that Warren is expected to be back on the pitch by the end of October, according to sources.

As to who will fill the void created by Warren’s absence on Saturday when Ole Miss takes on Arkansas, that responsibility will likely lie with transfer to South Carolina Jordan Rhodes or red-shirted freshman Cedric Melton. .

Warren, a sophomore, is from Louisville, Mississippi. He was a three-star prospect from Nanih Waiya High School.
