Marvel Studios is developing Emmy-winning spin-off WandaVision for Disney +, sources confirm to Deadline. The potential spinoff would center on Kathryn Hahn’s character of Agatha Harkness, whom Hahn is set to reprise across the MCU – both stream and in the movies – as part of a larger deal she made with the studio, have indicated sources.
Wandavision is a genre series created for Disney + by Jac Schaeffer, which picks up weeks after the events of Avengers: Endgame. It focuses on Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), two overpowered beings living their ideal suburban life in the town of Westview, New Jersey, who begin to suspect that all is not as it seems. Agatha Harkness of Hahn, a witch from Salem, Massachusetts, was a fan-favorite character, earning the actress her second Emmy nomination to date (the first was for Transparent).
Schaeffer is reportedly writing and executive producer on the Harkness spin-off, which was first reported by Deadline’s sister pub, Variety. Schaeffer is the subject of a joint global agreement with Marvel and 20th Television.
Hahn is replaced by Gersh, Lighthouse Management & Media and Schreck Rose Dapello.
