COLLIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – A postal worker was shot and killed in Collier Township on Thursday morning.

The shooting took place on Columbia Avenue near the intersection with Suburban Avenue just after 10 a.m.

Neighbors told KDKA that they heard several gunshots and saw a vehicle leaving the area. Someone called 911 and the Collier Township police arrived to find the postman shot.
Police said the victim was shot five times.

Police say the suspect parked his van in the Carnegie Police Department parking lot and entered the train station. He was arrested and taken to the Collier County Police Station.
Police say there is no immediate danger to the community.
Allegheny County Police are now working with the Postal Inspection Service to determine the charges.
