“This is what happens when you stand up for freedom. “
“This” was summarily fired, escorted and dropped off the premises like garbage by security officers at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Health.
This is the Westwood hospital where Dr Christopher B. Rake worked until Tuesday as an anesthesiologist.
We don’t know what Dr Rake is now. Is he fired? On leave without pay? What is clear is that the anesthesiologist cannot go to work. All because he refused a forced medical procedure – a gunshot – which he didn’t want, didn’t think was fair, and didn’t believe he needed it. The mandate was imposed on him by bureaucrats who know less about medicine than he does.
He was “escorted” from the hospital by three security guards, one of whom warned him to “stay away from me”, as Rake recorded his own eviction.
Rake may be starting an unwanted new career as the face of Americans under anti-COVID mandate – possibly millions of them – who will lose or have already lost their jobs, careers and livelihoods at because of orders from Joe Biden and the Democratic governors to get fired or lose everything.
Dr Rake said he knew the cost and was willing to pay it – for freedom.
This is what happens when you stand up for freedom and show up for work, ready to work, even if you are not vaccinated, and it is the price you sometimes have to pay. But what they don’t realize is that I’m ready to lose everything: job, salary, freedom, even my life for this cause.
It could be the tragic end of a career at one of California’s top medical institutions.
UCLA anesthesiologist Dr Chris Rake, an opponent of the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, was escorted out of the UCLA medical plaza yesterday and placed on unpaid administrative leave for refusing to be vaccinated or requested an exemption.

UCLA issued a statement following Rake’s ouster saying, “In accordance with state public health ordinance and University of California policy, active UCLA employees Health workers who do not work remotely must be vaccinated or be granted an exemption. Those who do not comply are subject to progressive discipline, including denied access to work sites and put on leave. “
Double the “progressive discipline” hear certainly sounds interesting, right?
UCLA Health staff were outraged by Rake’s anti-mandate activism. The UCLA student newspaper, The Daily Bruin, wrote that professors and staff were shocked by what they called “disinformation”, which they said “threatened public safety.”
A social media user taped UCLA Health anesthesiologist Dr Christopher Rake at an anti-vaccination rally. In the video, Rake said he opposed mandatory workplace vaccinations and founded Citizens United for Freedom – an organization against mandatory vaccines – in response to an August 5 California ordinance demanding that all healthcare workers be vaccinated against COVID- September 19-30.
“I think it is mind boggling that a doctor from a world-class institution comes to such a gathering and uses his name as a doctor to directly contradict public health,” said Dr Anna Yap, medical resident. in emergency medicine at UCLA.
Dr Nina Shapiro, professor of head and neck surgery at the School of Medicine and director of pediatric otolaryngology at Mattel Children’s Hospital, said doctors’ misinformation about vaccines could be extremely dangerous.
Rake told the crowd at that August rally something so outrageous that he put a target on his back. So obviously those responsible for “progressive discipline” needed to silence him.

Take a step back and contemplate the revolutionary words spoken by the doctor.
They want to force some vaccination or some medicine or some treatment into my body that I don’t want. So they tell me, “Take the jab or we’ll take your job.” And I’m here to say no. It’s not good.
Not exactly “give me freedom or give me death”, but inspiring words nonetheless.
The pandemic is so important to medical “experts” that they are willing to reject a man who has a medical resume that includes education at some of the country’s leading medical institutions.
Obviously, Rake is sort of a piker in the medical field. He attended Tufts University medical school. Pfft. He did his internship at Kaiser and his residences at Kaiser and UCLA respectively. He was certified in anesthesiology in 2010.
Who needs experience anyway? Not UCLA. Pfft.
In his job, Rake had hospital privileges at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
I have news for these UCLA medical “experts”. Ronald Reagan would not approve of the totalitarian and false mandates carried out in a hospital bearing his name. Not even a little.
Now Rake has his freedom. And those who claim to be concerned about the pandemic have lost yet another “frontline hero” doctor.
They will look back on that time with shame.
Maybe they’ll fill Rake’s place with a guy with real credentials like, say, someone from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
