Waffle House says Troll fabricated a story about worker holding baby like scam

The Waffle House employee holding a baby while she worked not only got hot online, but an online con artist also fabricated a backstory about the incident for financial gain… TMZ has learned .

As you may know… a TikTok employee at the Waffle House went viral last weekend as she was holding a baby while it seemed like she was helping the cooks prepare meals.

While researching the incident, someone contacted us claiming to be the employee and told us a tragic story as to why she was holding the child in the video – claiming the baby was the child of her deceased brother.

This person posing as the employee also told us that she was suspended for a week by Waffle House … what we now know is NOT TRUE.

Vice President of Public Relations of Waffle House, boss man, says TMZ… they investigated the TikTok video and “determined that media representations and social media posts are not accurate.”

The boss adds … “While one of our employees was recorded holding a baby at work, she has no connection with this baby, never identified herself as the person in the TikTok video, did never provided a CashApp account to receive donations, never granted an interview to any media outlet, and was never suspended from work. “

Fortunately, TMZ didn’t include any of the scammer’s CashApp information in our story, but some people did… and likely donated to a bogus cause.

Waffle House further explains that the employee in the TikTok video was holding a baby belonging to her coworker in an effort to quickly calm the crying child… and she was trained and retrained on the proper safety guidelines going forward.

The restaurant chain adds … “We caution against the further spread of this false story and the damage that could result, not to mention the help it could provide to support an apparent fraud on the public.”
