While it’s still available for purchase on Steam for $ 24.99, Bungie is removing Destiny 2‘s Abandoned expansion of the game in February of next year, when it will enter Destiny 2‘s DCV, the destiny Content vault. When The witch queen the extension arrives in February 2022, Abandoned is being vaulted along with a host of other Year 4 content.
It comes shortly after fans’ reaction to skill-based matchmaking in Trials of Osiris.
Bungie says storing content will leave more room for future features, locations, and missions. The Tangled Shore location is also removed, along with the Presage and Harbinger Exotic missions.
The Proving Grounds Strike and Battlegrounds are among the only Year 4 activities that will survive the showdown.
“The vaulting of this content will allow us to have the space to launch The witch queen and its new Throne World destination, as well as new features like weapon crafting, the new Legendary Difficulty campaign option, the new Glaive weapon archetype, plus all the additional content we’ve got planned for all four. new seasons coming from February, ”Bungie explains in an announcement message.
“Starting in February, existing Battlegrounds will be combined with Strikes in a new ‘Vanguard Operations’ playlist that will be free to all players. Additionally, the Keeper of Nothing Strike will remain in-game and be available for free to all players. Finally, all of Spider’s currency trading function will be taken over by Master Rahool in the tower when the Tangled Shore is moved into the DCV.
Bungie will do the Abandoned Free campaign to play starting December 7, 2021, giving people a few months to experience it before it is gone forever. However, those who don’t keep up with video game news could still purchase the content before that date, only to be removed soon after.
Fans took to social media to denounce the decision to remove the extension.
And the starting point of the game’s story right now is a mission where a main campaign character (who no longer exists) tragically dies and you’re supposed to care.
With the launch of the new expansion, they are removing that and the whole campaign of revenge.
