Tina Louise is the last surviving actor of “Gilligan’s Island” and she recently revealed what she really thinks about the show’s main men.
Louise portrayed the glitzy Ginger Grant in the iconic television series, which aired from 1964 to 1967 with Bob Denver playing the title character. The actress apparently didn’t seem to have any hesitation when asked in a recent interview who she said was her sexiest co-star on the show.
Speaking to the New York Post in a new interview, Louise revealed, “It’s Jim [Backus]. “
“Jim was hilarious. Humor, honey,” she continued of the late actor, who played millionaire Thurston Howell III. “He was so funny and he used to go to the psychiatrist every day and tell me the news of the day… But in general he had a great sense of humor. He was adorable.”
The ’60s TV show also saw Bob Denver as Gilligan, Russell Johnson as the teacher, and Alan Hale Jr. as the skipper.

“I think the professor has read too many books,” she added. “[Gilligan] was just very nervous and scared to death and spoke so fast. He was so shy. “
Louise confirmed that she lived in New York. Although she refused to share her age with the outlet because she didn’t believe in letting a number dictate her life, she was quite open about the qualities she looks for in a potential mate if the good shows up.
“I’m open. I’m open. I’m open to life,” Louise said of her interest in dating.
She added: “He would be funny, would have a good heart and the money wouldn’t matter if we were stuck on an island.”

Louise even disclosed a star in Hollywood that she would like to know more about. Turns out she would pick late night host John Oliver.
“I like his dimples. I like him. He’s awesome. Shiny. Cute. Funny,” she said. “You have to enjoy each other’s company and have something to say. This is important.”

Louise last spoke to Fox News in December 2020 after the death of another of her “Gilligan” co-stars, Dawn Wells.
“I will always remember his kindness to me,” said Louise. “We shared the creation of a cultural monument that continued to bring comfort and smiles to people during this difficult time. I hope people will remember her as I do – always with a smile on her face. his face.”
Louise said in a 2019 interview with Closer every week that she loved how the sitcom “portrayed this great escape” in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the tragic assassination of President John F. Kennedy and in the midst of an escalating Vietnam War.
“When we first aired our country was in turmoil,” said Louise, adding, “I think people really needed an escape. Then we lost our beloved Martin Luther. King and in a time of uncertainty, ‘Gilligan’s Island represented that great escape.’
“This sweet, silly show gave her fans calm and joy in a scary time and continued to do so,” Louise continued.
“Gilligan’s Island” continues to be broadcast worldwide in over 30 languages.
