SAINT ANTHONY – A standoff on the south side of town has ended, resulting in the arrest of a 44-year-old man and two members of his family, according to San Antonio police.
The man, whose identity is still withheld from the authorities, has been the subject of two arrest warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and two members of his family have been arrested for entering several times in the looped scene and “interfere with his arrest.”
One of those family members also kicked out a patrol window and will be charged with criminal mischief, police said.
The stalemate occurred shortly after a similar incident occurred a few hours earlier on Saturday.
The man involved has been “the subject of multiple disturbances this week”, according to police.
One of the most recent disruptions involving the man occurred on Saturday morning when he threatened on social media to burn down his house in Block 100 of South Park Boulevard, officials said.

The stalemate on Saturday morning was resolved peacefully in about 20 minutes, police said. However, on Saturday afternoon another stalemate ensued between the same man and the authorities.
The standoff unfolded over several hours and officials said they were able to safely evacuate the man’s family from their home. The man was locked inside the house, alone, during the standoff, police said.
It is not known if he was armed or if he had access to weapons. No injuries were reported.
The man has a long criminal history with law enforcement and a history of violent offenses, according to SAPD.
