Welcome to another edition of the WWE News and Rumor Roundup. Today’s line of stories features some of the biggest names in society, unsurprisingly with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the foreground.
The roundup contains all the behind-the-scenes details regarding the much-publicized Universal Title program and the identity of Reigns’ next championship contender after Lesnar.
Elsewhere, a controversial former superstar has reportedly told his friends he will return to promoting Vince McMahon soon.
The 2021 Draft also saw a few new faces arriving on RAW and SmackDown, respectively, and WWE appears to have high hopes from two former NXT talents.
We conclude the roundup with The Undertaker providing an update regarding his retirement and status in the ring.
# 5. Alberto Del Rio reportedly told people he was coming back to WWE
Alberto Del Rio has had several ups and downs since ending his last stint in WWE almost five years ago in 2016. As Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former superstar has told people he would work with Vince McMahon’s company again. soon.
Del Rio hopes to resolve his legal issues – especially regarding the alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend – and pave the way for his return to WWE.
While the odds of McMahon re-signing Alberto Del Rio are low according to Meltzer, he still seems pretty confident that he will return to the promotion fold.
“Although I don’t believe it at all, Alberto El Patron tells people he will go to WWE when his legal situation regarding the alleged assault of an ex-girlfriend in San Antonio is cleared up,” said Dave Meltzer.
Alberto Del Rio spoke to Riju Dasgupta about Sportskeeda Wrestling in June, and you can check out what he had to say about a possible WWE return in the video above.
