Back 4 Blood released in its Early Access form this weekend, but those perhaps looking to play the zombie slayer shooter on their own may find that it leaves a lot to be desired. Specifically, Back 4 Blood removes a number of features included in the game, unless you play with others. Thankfully, complaints about this rather odd aspect of the game have already grown so strong that a change seems to be coming soon.
In short, players who might be looking to play through the campaign in Back 4 Blood will find out for themselves that they cannot earn certain rewards in the game. Specifically, the game makes it clear that those looking to play alone will not be able to earn Supply Points, will not be able to progress to different achievements, nor even earn achievements or trophies. While Back 4 Blood was meant to be played with others ideally, a lot of players found it baffling that these many restrictions were placed on the game’s single-player mode.
Attention cleaners! ??
We’ve heard your frustrations with single-player progression and are discussing ways to fix the issue. Thank you for your patience and feedback at this time – we’ll have more news as we strategize on potential ways to achieve this.

The silver lining to this whole situation is that Turtle Rock Studios has previously said it is looking into complaints that Back 4 Blood players have had in regards to the single player offering of the game. “We have heard your frustrations with the single player progression and are discussing ways to resolve the issue,” the studio said in a recent update on Twitter. “Thank you for your patience and feedback at this time – we’ll have more news as we strategize on potential ways to achieve this.”
If you are not currently playing Back 4 Blood In early access, you can plan to get your hands on the title next week when it officially releases on October 12. At this point, it will arrive on the PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms. Additionally, it will also be a day one addition to Xbox Game Pass.
What do you think of these single player restrictions currently in place with Back 4 Blood? And how long do you think it will take Turtle Rock to change that system? Let me know either in the comments or hit me up on Twitter at @ Mooreman12.
