Accidentally upgraded your Prime Karambit to Valorant and want to restore it? Maybe you’re not a big fan of the flashy Elderflame animations? You’ll soon be able to choose which “skin level” you’ve equipped, according to a leak before Valorant patch 3.08.
When you upgrade a skin in Valorant, it is changed for good. You can get new flashy effects – be it visuals or sound – and polished animations.
However, for some players, upgrades are actually detrimental. Sometimes you improve a skin and prefer how it feels before the changes. There is no way to find out before you upgrade, and there is no way to refund Radianite afterwards.
This should change, according to dataminer Valorant ValorLeaks, in patch 3.08.
In a tweet from October 8, they claimed that “you will be able to select the level of skin you want to equip” in the next update. Variants only come equipped with the fully upgraded weapon.
This comes after community complaints about the First Karambit in particular. The knife upgrade removed the default spin animation, which was a hit with players. Riot has promised a solution will come by the end of 2021, and it appears to be.
The option will allow players to “downgrade” their skins so that they can use specific animations and achieve the look they prefer. However, you won’t be able to equip the skin variants, which change the color, without all of the animation enhancements.

While downgrading your skin won’t necessarily reimburse your Radianite, it will at least give you the skin you want. Valorant patch 3.08 is expected to launch on October 19 following Riot’s recent bi-weekly update schedule.
