Adele fans were shocked when the “Hello” singer answered an intimate question during a live Q&A this weekend – and failed to understand the cheeky reference.
The Grammy-winning singer was speaking to fans about her upcoming post-divorce album during a live stream on Instagram on Saturday.
While most of the questions were harmless questions about his music, one fan decided to take it a step further.
“What is my body count?” What does that mean? ”Adele said to those watching, reacting to the question.
The term “body count” is slang for the number of people a person has slept with. Adele looked unfazed and moved on to the next question.
But social media was quick to show wisdom in the interaction.
“NOT SOMEBODY ASKS ADELE WHAT HER BODY NUMBER IS ??? AND SHE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT THAT’S WHAT I AM CALLING,” a Twitter user noted.
“I can’t seem to forget someone asking Adele what her body count is ????? I’m in pieces,” another tweeted.
“Now who asked Adele what her body count was… you’re all sick,” another noted.
Some thought the singer was just playing cool, pretending not to know what that meant.
“Mannnnnnnnn, she knows EXACTLY what it means and I love her for playing”, a fan tweeted.
Adele’s highly anticipated new single, “Easy on Me,” which she teased last week and is set to release the full song and video on October 15th.
The singer said her upcoming album deals with her divorce from Simon Konecki earlier this year.
