Burning Questions About ‘Squid Game’ After The Final – Readers’ Reviews

[ad_1]

The following contains spoilers from Netflix Squid game.

Squid game. Netflix’s hit from South Korea is either something you’ve heard about but aren’t interested in… a show you sampled but quickly realized… Or it was your last frenzy.

Through nine episodes (including the abruptly short one titled “Front Man”), Squid game follows Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), an unemployed divorced gambler as he and 455 other oppressed foreigners are knocked out with gas and taken to a secret island resort, to participate in a series of children’s games decidedly given everything deadly turned.

The first round, “Red Light, Green Light”, hurries abruptly with 255 players. After a 101-100 vote to quit the game and return home, 187 players finally reconsidered and were brought back to chase the 45.6 billion won (~ $ 38.6 million) grand prize. In Round 3, 80 were split into eight “Tug of War” teams, after which 39 were asked to pair up for Round 4, leaving the strange (but sure) woman Mi-nyeo out.

A total of 16 players made it to the penultimate round 5, of which only three survived: Gi-hun, his childhood friend Sang-woo, and the pickpocket Sae-byeok. Sadly, Sae-byeok was seriously injured by the “Glass Stepping Stones” bullet (automatic weapons destroying the playing field, causing shards of glass to fly). After Sang-woo “empathetically” ended Sae-byeok’s suffering, he and Gi-hun faced off in the titular Squid game, the rules of which… well, I still don’t get it 100%. It was a rigorous, rain-soaked confrontation, however, and although Sang-woo had his licks, Gi-hun came out with the top – though he refused to deliver a fatal blow. Sang-woo, however, ended his life with his own knife, allowing Gi-hun to be crowned champion and receive the award.

Coming out of the ordeal, a distraught Gi-hun barely touched his 45.6 billion won for an entire year, until he was invited to a mysterious date – with, he is. turned out, Oh Il-nam. “The old man” was reportedly executed after Round 4, when in fact he had been running this business from the start. Legitimately suffering from a brain tumor, he explained to Gi-hun how boring it is to be as rich as him, so the game was a way to end the monotony of his life while testing to see. if mankind still had goodness in it. Il-nam and Gi-hun make a final bet on whether a homeless man in the street below will be helped by a stranger, though the old man dies just as Gi-hun wins this bet.

Subsequently, Gi-hun took Sae-byeok’s little brother out of an orphanage (as promised on what would be his deathbed) and left him in the care of Sang- ‘proud (if unconscious) mother. woo, to whom he also left half of his earnings. Gi-hun then made runways for the airport, to visit his daughter in Los Angeles, but on the way he saw the man who treated him for the game do the same with another stranger. Grabbing the business card from the stranger’s hands, Gi-hun called the number and announced his intention to learn exactly who they were and why they were engaging in the atrocities they were committing. Although the voice on the other end advised him to continue his journey, Gi-hun at the last minute turns on his heels and decides not get on the plane, but … What?

This last question is one of 15 listed below, from my frenzy of the nine-episode series. Class Squid game in the poll below, then see which of the questions below you have for.
