It gives berries. And in addition? Cream. Timothée Chalamet posted a photo of his prequel Twonka (twink Wonka) outfit. Chalamet is playing Wonka, the musical prequel to Charlie and the chocolate factory. Chalamet obediently gazes out of the camera, telegraphing the little boy’s energy from all his pores. Willy Wonka’s origin story was announced in May 2021. Paddington director Paul King is leading the project, with a screenplay he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby. Wonka will stand out from the glut of single-origin story films like Cruel and Joker in that it will have hella musical numbers. Joker there was only one, and that made those stairs unusable for a month, remember?
Chalamet’s photo, with all of Dickens’ snow and scarf work, was reminiscent of Gonzo’s cut of A Christmas Carol from the Muppets for at least one Twitter user. But Gonzo’s hat appears to be fur, while Chalamet’s is… really dented suede? How do you get eclipsed by a Muppet, boy?
