MIAMI – Authorities say the ex-husband of Cynthia Bailey, star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, spent the night in a Miami jail after being arrested for fraud.

Peter Thomas was arrested Friday at the Miami International Airport under a warrant for fugitive arrest.

Miami-Dade police told news outlets that the arrest warrant against Thomas, 58, was from Louisiana, where he is accused of writing fraudulent checks.

No links have been established.

In an official statement, Thomas said the allegations were false. He stated that he would be "acquitted of any wrongdoing".

Thomas owns a sports bar and club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Thomas and Bailey got married at a lavish wedding in Season 3 of the Bravo series, which then divorced in 2017, after almost seven years of marriage. He received the Made Man Award in December at the Embassy of Ghana in Washington.

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" is now in season 11.
