Comedian John Oliver is tired of automated calls and the Federal Communications Commission does not do enough about them – so he sent automated calls after the FCC took revenge.
Oliver announced on HBO Last week tonight Yesterday, he will send automated calls to the five FCC commissioners – Ajit Pai, Michael O'Rielly, Brendan Carr, Jessica Rosenworcel and Geoffrey Starks – every 90 minutes to annoy FCC in the action. Oliver notes that it only took 15 minutes for his technician to set it up.
The repeated call will:
Hello, FCC. That's John's customer service. Congratulations! You have just won a chance to lower automated calls in America today. Sorry, but I am a living person! Automated calls are incredibly boring, and the person who can stop them is you! I'll get back to you in 90 minutes. Here is bagpipe music.
