Lea Michele, the Jewish woman who captured America's attention with her imposing presence, exquisite range and diva soul, is officially married.
The star of "Glee" married her partner Zandy Reich at an exquisite ceremony in northern California, reports People Magazine. In the unique photo of the event that was made public, Michele shines in a bright white dress, holding a huge bouquet of white roses in one hand and that of her new husband in the other. A veil of swirling tulle gushes from the top of her perfect bun and diamond tears sparkle under her ear lobes. It's a perfect look for Michele – a goddess both sober and divinely extravagant.
Reich, a Wharton graduate and former head of footwear fashion, who runs the AYR clothing line, seems ecstatic just to hold her hand. As the Forward reported in April 2018, when the couple first became engaged to a ring that Leor Yerushalmi had personally designed by Reich, limited public information about Reich would suggest that he was Jewish. Michele recently stated that Reich and she had met at the wedding of her best friend, Stephanie Levinson, one next to the other. As we reported at the time, "Zandy = Alenxander. Jewdar rule # 7 – practice goyishe sport. He is a Jew with diamond contacts and a head of shmatte business."
The only image of Michele-Reich's wedding would seem to suggest that the couple had a Jewish or Jewish wedding. They stand under a box of matching vines and white flowers that, although your grandparents may not find you familiar, are certainly extremely expensive chuppahs. And while no one in the picture wears a kippah, there is another sign right behind the couple. An elegant pale gray pouch on the floor behind them seems to contain a recently crushed glass.
We wish the couple all the happiness, the mazal and the "joy" that this life can offer. And hey, if you had a Jewish wedding, would it hurt you to share the details with your loving community?
