Shoppers browsing Amazon will soon be able to get items sold by cheaper third parties elsewhere.

The e-commerce giant is in the process of overturning a rule that guaranteed the lowest prices on the products sold by these external sellers, according to Axios, citing an anonymous person who was aware of the change.

Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for information regarding the new policy reported.

This decision could alleviate criticism that Amazon's requirements hinder competition. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) Wrote a letter to the Department of Justice in December asking him to launch an investigation into how Amazon's regime could affect other websites.

"I am deeply concerned that the provisions on price parity in Amazon's contracts with third-party sellers could stifle market competition and artificially inflate the prices of consumer goods as millions of dollars." Americans are planning to buy these days, "wrote Blumenthal.

Large technology companies like Amazon are increasingly being watched and some critics claim to be new monopolies.

Senator Elizabeth Warren, who is also seeking nomination to the Democratic presidency, announced last week a plan to dismantle companies like Amazon, which bought Whole Foods for $ 13.7 billion in 2017, Facebook, which owns Instagram, and Google.

"Today's big tech companies have too much power, too much on our economy, our society and our democracy," Warren said in an essay published on the online blog site Medium. "They used bulldozer competition, used our private information for profit, and tipped the scales against everyone."
