Slack mobile app gets its own "dark mode" in the latest update

There is no doubt that the "dark modes" are currently very hot, like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Google Chrome, Android, Windows 10 and MacOS that happily enter their gothic phase in recent months.

We can now add Slack to this ever-growing list, with the work-based eDiscussion service that is currently rolling out a new update for its iOS and Android apps, which aims to drape your workplace discussions into a Joy Division virtual t-shirt (or the dark ones or anything).

March's update of Slack, which was not yet available to us at the time of writing, would bring a simple switch in dark mode to the application settings section, previously reserved for beta testers.

When Slack's dark mode is on, conversations will have a dark gray background and white text. In addition to being easier for older LEDs, this should also be beneficial to your device's battery life.

Unfortunately, users of the Slack desktop app will have to wait for their own night mode because this update is reserved for mobile users at the moment.
