An UC Irvine student died with 0.331 alcohol in the blood, says a coroner

IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) – Noah Domingo, a student at Irvine University in Irvine, died of alcohol poisoning with a blood alcohol level of 0.331, announced Monday the coroner's office.

The 18-year-old from La Crescenta died in an off-campus home on January 12 after attending a fraternity party the night before.

The coroner's office stated that the toxicology tests did not reveal any substances in addition to the alcohol in their system.

The coroner's division of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said that Domingo died at around 3:30 am after being "accidental ethanol poisoning".

The Irvine Police Service is continuing its investigation and will report its findings to the District Attorney's Office to determine if any charges should be laid.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity was temporarily suspended after the death of Domingo. He was a freshman and a sibling.

He was a high school athlete and enrolled as a major in biology with plans to study kinesiology. His dream was to become a coach for the NBA, according to his father.
