Last week, we learned that Slack was testing a long-awaited dark mode for its iOS app with beta testers. Now the platform has released an update for iOS and Android to provide the popular feature to all users.
The quick transition from beta testing to a full version of Slack's dark mode is sure to please the crowd. As we noted last week, users have been requesting this feature for some time.
Here's how to enable dark mode on the latest version of Slack for iOS:
just tap the three dots in the upper right corner and choose "Settings." From there, you can switch to a new "Dark Mode". Just press the switch for the application to reorganize instantly with a dark interface.
As we noted earlier, Slack's dark mode uses a shade of dark gray instead of a real black.
Today's release is another exciting feature: dark mode will soon be available on the desktop.

What's up
• Dark mode can now be enabled (or disabled) in the Settings menu. Yes, the road has been long, but it is dark at the end of the tunnel. NB: This is only mobile for the moment, with a desktop later – thank you for accompanying us both and continuing to hope for more from us.
Bug fixes
• Fixed: the text welcoming you when first using the Slack app did not quite fit on the screen of smaller devices. Not the biggest problem in the world (literally), but first impressions count.
Notably, Slack recently changed its iOS and Android icons from dark purple to white. As Zac Hall of 9to5Mac pointed out, it would be nice to be able to choose a dark icon. In addition, if you want a uniform dark aesthetic on your mobile, you must change the theme via the desktop, because the sidebar does not automatically become completely dark.
