Spotify Delivers New Package to New and Existing Subscribers: Its $ 9.99 Premium Package Now Includes Access to All Hulu TV Series and Movies Through Hulu's Advertising-Funded Level which costs $ 5.99 a month separately.
More and more people are cutting the cord and opting instead for Internet-based, cheaper, no-contract streaming services. According to a recent report by Nielsen, the percentage of US households without traditional cable or satellite television has increased by 48% in the last 8 years, for a total of about 16 million households. Spotify's partnership with Hulu is further encouraging people to give up their cable bills, and helping Spotify and Hulu distinguish themselves from their main competitors: Apple Music, Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Starting today, current Spotify subscribers can activate the Hulu Pack or link their existing Hulu accounts to the Spotify Your Services page. New Spotify Premium users can sign up for a 30-day free trial that includes Hulu. After creating or linking a Hulu account, Spotify users can visit Hulu to watch TV and movies via supported devices or Hulu.com.
A spokesman for Spotify said: "The package is available in perpetuity for those who opted before June 10". In addition, if the price changes in the future, subscribers will be informed and will be able to cancel the plan at any time from the Spotify Account page.
But there is a caveat: a promotional image of the transaction says, "Limited number of offers: open until 6/10/19 or until stocks run out." The Hulu transaction also does not apply to Spotify Family subscribers paying $ 14.99 per month for five people. Hulu is only available for individual Spotify Premium subscribers. In addition, Hulu upgrades, such as the ad-free package ($ 11.99 per month) or the HBO add-on ($ 14.99 per month), are not available through the kit.
This is the first time Spotify offers its Premium Hulu customers at no additional cost. Previously, the Spotify Premium + Hulu package, launched in April 2018, cost $ 12.99 per month. These subscribers will automatically upgrade to the new price of $ 9.99 as of today.
