Tim Tebow will play for Syracuse Mets to start the season

Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow travels to Syracuse to play baseball for the Syracuse Mets, according to mlb.com.

The New York Mets have reassigned Tebow this week (a friendly way of saying that he was injured) at the Triple-A Syracuse Mets.

Last season, he played for the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

Tebow was the quarterback of the University of Florida and won the Heisman Trophy in 2007. He was selected by the Denver Broncos and played two seasons there as well as a season for the New Jets. York in 2012.

He started his professional baseball career in 2016.
