Rodriguez enlisted on an access road, called the police and started performing CPR, but that was not enough. Flores, a 33-year-old mother of three, was taken to the nearby hospital and died the next morning, Temple police said.

Two days after his death, Rodriguez remembered Flores for his joie de vivre, his perpetual smile and his grandmother.
"(She) worked very hard to support her three children," he said. "She was a strong person who has always been at the forefront of action and who has never been around the bush.Always honest and (willing) to help to the best of her ability. "
Rodriguez also stated that he wished to thank the good Samaritan who had offered his help immediately after the incident. The unknown telephoned 911's dispatcher while Rodriguez was doing CPR and helping Rodriguez stay calm, he said.
"When the paramedics arrived, I noticed that he was gone," he told CNN. "I did not get his name and I never thanked him for helping me in this time of need.I just want to thank this person in person for helping me out. "
