(AP / KSBY) – Los Angeles prosecutors have accused a man of killing a 9-year-old girl whose body was found in a gym bag at the edge of an equestrian trail in the suburbs.

Emiel Lamar Hunt, 38, was charged with murder in the murder of Trinity Love Jones.

The girl's body was found on March 5 in Hacienda Heights, a suburb of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department released a sketch of the girl to identify her and tell her that she had received an overwhelming response.

Hunt is due to appear before the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Pomona on Tuesday.

The authorities say that Hunt is the boyfriend of Trinity's mother. He was arrested on Saturday. The sheriff's officials say that he was found sleeping in his car near the San Diego International Airport.

Prosecutors say Hunt has already been convicted of juvenile abuse in 2005 in San Diego County.

If he is found guilty, Hunt incurs a sentence of up to 50 years in prison in a state prison.

Hunt was in custody and could not be reached for comment. He is held on bail of $ 2 million.

The sheriff's officials said they were hiding information about a second person of interest in the case while the investigation continued.
