In this article, Britni Danielle writes that King is more than Oprah's best friend. An experienced journalist, she should give a lecture on the art of interviewing.
When CBS this morning announced that Gayle King had met R. Kelly, many wondered why the popular daytime show gave a tribune to the besieged singer. But when the first clips of the interview were published and the viewers had a glimpse of Kelly's loss, they were hooked.
Frankly speaking, King's interview with Kelly was awesome TV.

The veteran journalist moved Kelly with heated questions about rumors of sexual misconduct that have been circulating around him for decades. And when Kelly lost his temper and accused people of lying and trying to murder his character, King kept him cool, reacting with a simple "D". Robert, like a mother coaxing a child.
After Kelly's video screaming at King went viral, many people – including her long-time best friend, Oprah Winfrey – were worried. But of course, King was not. With nearly 40 years of activity in the information sector, King has managed Kelly's explosion while remaining steadfast.

"What I really thought was, I'm not finished with this interview, so I'll let him take his time," King said after the interview. "If I got up even to comfort him, it could have been his invitation to say," It's over. "So, I did not interrupt his anger and let him do it."
Many congratulated King for giving a master class without being worried, but it was a reminder once again that King was more than a boyfriend of Oprah; she was an award-winning journalist who had been telling great stories for years. While King teamed up with her best friend in the past, she appeared as a correspondent on The show of Oprah Winfrey and serving as editor-in-chief for O, Oprah magazineKing built his own career in journalism.
Nobody gave King his enviable perch CBS this morningshe deserved it. She has been a news presenter in Hartford, Connecticut, for nearly two decades before conquering other aspects of the media. Before joining CBS this morning, King also appeared as a correspondent of the Hello America and animated his own daily talker, The Gayle King Show.

Because she and Gayle King are the original BFFs. Their more than 30 years of friendship reminds us beautifully that two prosperous sisters can support each other through all of this.
Throughout his career, King has won numerous awards for his outstanding work, including three Emmy Awards. Despite all her accomplishments, many people still see her as Winfrey's home girl, but that does not seem to bother King.
"I'm not hanging on that. Because even when people say that she's only Oprah's best friend … well, that's not a bad thing, "said King at Refinery 29 in 2017 "I never felt compelled to justify my existence because the truth is how most people have come to know me, as Oprah's best friend. I do not think that's a misconception, because that's what I am. "
But of course, she is also much more than that. King is a mother, a daughter, a devoted friend and a journalist, O.G., who is the ideal person to help us through this difficult time.
We salute you, King!
