Jade Raymond named new vice president of Google – Variety

Veteran of the games industry, Jade Raymond, has been named vice president of Google.

Raymond announced the news on Twitter today. "I'm delighted to finally share the fact that I became vice president of Google!" Wrote Raymond.

She did not specify her role as vice-president of the company.

Raymond made his debut in the game industry as a programmer for Sony. She then worked for Electronic Arts, then as a correspondent for The Electric Playground, and then for Ubisoft Montreal, where she was a producer of Assassin's Creed. She was then Executive Producer of Assassin's Creed 2, "Watch Dogs" and "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist".

She helped open the Ubisoft Toronto studio and was the executive director, helping to expand the studio. In 2015, Raymond joined EA and founded Motive Studios in Montreal. She left EA last year. In January 2019, she received the Legend Award at the 8th New York Game Awards.

Raymond was named to the Variety 500 list last year for his impact on the video game and entertainment industries.

Google will hold a conference at this year's game developer conference. As Google attends the conference and organizes events at the annual meeting since 2010, it will be the first time the company has held a speech. It's unclear exactly what the keynote will discuss, but the RSVP for the event says it's for "Google's announcement" and a video posted today says it's up to the company to unveil its vision of the future of video games.
