Cordarrelle Patterson, former receiver of the New England Patriots, plans to sign a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears worth $ 5 million a year, said a source to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Patriots had acquired Patterson and a 2018 sixth round pick from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a fifth round 2018 pick in March 2018. The deal was triggered, in part, by Patterson's $ 3 million base salary. and the $ 250,000 training bonus. Raiders are considered too high for a player whose main contributions have been reported as returning from the sending shot.

But the salary was deemed tenable by Patriotic coach Bill Belichick, who gives high priority to special teams.

In the end, Patterson helped the Patriots several times during the 2018 season as a "slash" type option. At one point, he cashed transfers as a traditional run when the team was seriously injured at the station.

In 15 regular season games, with five starts, Patterson had 42 run attempts for 228 yards, with one touchdown. He added 21 receptions for 247 yards and three touchdowns. Regarding kickoff returns, he had 23 for 663 yards (28.8 on average) and one touchdown, which occurred against the Bears.

Patterson (6-foot-2, 228-pound), who turns 28 on March 17, entered the NFL as a first-round pick (29th overall) of the Minnesota Vikings in 2013. He spent four years in Minnesota before signing with the Raiders as a free agent before the 2017 season.
