Google publishes today Chrome 73 on Windows and Mac. The latest Chrome update brings a number of improvements on both platforms, but concerns the major new features of the Mac.
Chrome 73 introduces by default the new dark mode for Chrome on Mac. Google has been testing this new feature for some time on Windows and Mac, but today's update makes it public and allows it by default. This means that if dark mode is enabled on macOS Mojave, you will automatically see the new dark mode on Chrome. The new dark mode applies a darker color scheme throughout the browser, which makes it much easier for the eyes and much more user friendly for those who are not fans of clear / white interfaces.
Chrome 73 also supports progressive Web applications on the Mac, making PWA available on all platforms for the first time. PWAs on Macs work just like everywhere else, you can "install" PWAs so you can open them as classic applications and use features like push notifications, and more. the functionality of PWA to offer more features such as file system access, alarm clock lock, etc.
Chrome 73 also supports hardware media keys, which means you can now use your hardware keys to control things like YouTube or SoundCloud on the web with your media keys. And if you're like me and listen to a lot of music on SoundCloud, it'll be really useful.
