Former KU football coach David Beaty started a court action on Tuesday afternoon, claiming that the university had not paid any of the $ 3 million redemption related to his contract and dismissal in November.

the SB Nation report When KU dismissed Beaty, the university said that she would abide by the terms of her contract, which provided for a $ 3 million buyout when she was fired without a reason.

The complaint, filed in federal court, says KU should have paid Beaty $ 500,000 a month for six months. SB Nation reports however that KU does not pay Beaty because of an NCAA self-initiated investigation into irregularities involving a former assistant coach.

The school fired Beaty with three games to play in the 2018 season. The Miles, former LSU coach, was hired to replace Beaty.
