Now, here is a good surprise. Microsoft has announced the integration of its latest API, DirectX 12, Windows 7. Yes, you read correctly. Windows 7 now supports DX12 and the first game that can take advantage of it is World of Warcraft.

Although World of Warcraft can run via DX12 on Windows 7, Microsoft claims that the best performance of DirectX 12 will still be on Windows 10, because Windows 10 contains several operating system optimizations designed to make DirectX 12 even faster.

Unfortunately, Windows 7 is not installed on our system, but it will be interesting to see, on third-party websites, landmarks between Windows 10 and Windows 7 in World of Warcraft DX12.

Microsoft also said that it is currently working with a few other game developers to transfer their D3D12 games to Windows 7, and that it will make new announcements about these plans in the near future.
