Note: Prices quoted here are valid until March 18th. Tesla has announced its intention to "increase vehicle prices by about 3% on average worldwide. … [However,] Model 3 of 35,000 USD will not increase the price. Price increases will only apply to the most expensive variants. So, if you're looking for Model 3, you'll find a helpful guide, but you do not have a day left to take advantage of these lower prices.
Tesla's announcement of the highly anticipated Standard range and the surprising Standard Range Plus Model 3 was also accompanied by the introduction of two new interior trim levels. Previously, all 3 models featured the high-end interior, with Tesla's soft synthetic seat material, heated seats for all five occupants, a 14-speaker premium audio system, and other characteristics. Without having to choose a level of interior finishing, it was very easy to build your model 3: choose a size of battery, choose the colors, indicate if you wish an improved autopilot.
With the addition of model 3 of the standard range, there are now three levels of interior finish, six levels of battery and performance, five exterior colors, two interior colors and two wheel styles. The most popular features are not available on all interior trim and it is easy to increase the price of a model 3 of the Standard range to over $ 40,000.
To make things easier, we will detail the characteristics of each interior trim, then show what interior is available for each level of performance of the car.
The standard cabin, model 3, displays the minimalist interior style of Tesla, but not much else. We have not seen nor felt the fabric seats of the standard trim; we can not therefore pronounce on the quality of the materials used.
For just $ 2,000 more, the partially premium interior will likely attract many buyers. Tesla adds to this option its soft synthetic leather material and heated front seats, adjustable in 12 directions.
Meanwhile, the premium interior retains exclusive Tesla satellite maps and a navigation system using live traffic data, as well as its 14-speaker audio system, streaming media in the car, and heated rear seats and several other functions.
Model 3 buyers can not mix interiors with battery sizes – each battery size comes with a specific interior trim. If you want a high-end interior, you have no choice but to deposit at least $ 5,000 more for the midrange battery.
See the table below for the available interior trim for each battery size and the performance available at each level. [Reminder: prices shown below, excluding the base model, are scheduled to rise approximately 3% on Monday.]
Finally, you have the choice between five different options. These include paint colors, wheel styles, interior colors, autopilot and full auto-driving. These last two can be added to any vehicle.
You can add up to $ 13,000 of options to a Model 3. When you factor in a $ 1,200 Tesla destination fee, you can convert the standard model 3 over $ 37,000 into a vehicle that costs $ 51,000. $ 200 before taxes.
With the price drop of new models 3, it will be tempting for many to cross-purchase with new cars. When looking at the value of a used 3 model, you should keep in mind options such as interior trim and autopilot: Tesla's changes to autopilot features allow older vehicles to offer a better value based on the exact characteristics that interest you.
