Google Pixel 4 model based on information disclosed
We are well into 2019 and the fourth generation of Pixel phones is knocking on the door. It may take a few months before Google's flagship products arrive on the shelf, but the first wave of rumors about them has already begun to compete for attention and interest.
The tiny hearsay droplets found here and there will surely turn into a deluge of leaks throughout the year. To such an extent that it will be difficult to remember everything at one time.
We created this rumors review Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL to keep you up to date on the latest gossip. It contains all the interesting speculations on the future models and we will update it with more juicy information over time. So do not hesitate to bookmark and check from time to time to stay informed!
How many new models this time? Will we see a 5G Pixel 4 or a Pixel 4 Lite?
Good things go by three, or at least that's what some people say. Rumors that Google has released a trio of flagship phones have been abundant in the past two years. Suspected leaks would have started to circulate before the announcement of second generation pixels and also preceded the release of pixels 3 and 3 XL. However, this year, it's not hard to assume that the technology giant could launch more handsets in order to take a bigger share of the market.
A midrange Pixel 3 Lite and even a 3 Lite XL should break in the coming months. So, it is already highly likely that we would see 3+ new Pixel handsets coming out in 2019. A Pixel 4 Lite duo could also accompany the Pixel 4 and 4 XL at some point, even if they're not advertised at the day before. at the same time. In addition, the advent of the Samsung Galaxy S10e and the iPhone XR could leave Google no choice but to launch a device capable of competing at that price.
Finally, let's talk about 5G. By 2019, many operators in the United States and around the world are expected to launch the first 5G networks. This fact has been known for quite some time. This has even prompted some phone manufacturers to release models that support this frequency even before such a network is available. Given that Google is expected to release its Pixel phones a few months before the end of the year, the company has time to develop and launch a 5G Pixel 4, at least in theory.
Design – An area where Google needs to get involved
Alleged image of Pixel 4 fled
In terms of innovation in smartphone design, there are two types of manufacturers: trend modifiers and trend followers. Until now, Google is entering the second category and, unfortunately, the company has not always been impressed. Nobody can deny that the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are performing artists with exceptional cameras, but they did not seduce us in terms of design. The notches and bottom bezel of the Pixel 3 XL seem almost grotesque compared to competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S9, the S10, the OnePlus 6T or the iPhone XS. While the small Pixel 3 is more pleasing to the eye, it seems almost old in the era of all-screen phones.

Fortunately, everything indicates that Google will intensify its game in 2019. Two patent applications filed in January suggest that the technology giant is working on a fully equipped phone. Another leak of just a few days ago indicates that the next Pixel devices could be inspired by the punch-hole design of the Galaxy S10 series. Nothing innovative, but better execution probably than previous attempts by Google. Hope this turns out to be true.
The last presumed diagram also suggests that we will see dual camera configurations at the front and back on at least one of the devices. This is a pretty big change, so let's talk about it in more detail in the section below.
Let's move on to the latest interesting information. The fingerprint scanner – traditionally placed on the back of a pixel phone – is nowhere to be seen on the fleeing image. If that's really the real deal, it could mean one of three things. We'll see the digits reader embedded in the next pixel power button, or we'll get a more modern sub-display solution. The third option is to completely remove this form of biometric authentication and replace it with an evolved Face ID-like system, much like what Apple did with the iPhone X and later models.

Camera: More sensors = more fun?
Pixel phones have the reputation of being one of the best mobile photography devices. So we have no reason to think that pixels 4 and 4 XL will be an exception. The current models were the first to offer two front cameras, and this time we also saw two main sensors at the back!
Many manufacturers have frivolously taken the dual camera train to look attractive and trendy, but Google has taken a different approach. The company opted for a single main camera and nevertheless managed to outperform most of its competitors. This was done using advanced hardware and software that enabled Pixel models to boast of an outstanding image processing prowess.
However, recent rumors indicate that the company may have decided to use two sensors in the back. The elongated oval shape of the camera module in the last leaked image suggests it. If Google was the best performer with a single snapper, imagine what two could do.
For the moment, we do not have more details, but we will make sure to update you as new information reaches us.
Google Pixel 4 & 4 XL specifications and news
The Snapdragon 855 should equip the new Pixel phones from Google
Like any respectable Android flagship, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL are expected to vibrate the latest Qualcomm SoC – the Snapdragon 855. Until now, information on RAM and internal storage is scarce, but compared to that that we have now, this area could see an improvement in 2019.
The current range has 4 GB of RAM with a starting storage capacity of 64 GB. To compete with other Android heavyweights, Google will at least increase RAM to 6 GB. The base model with 64 GB of internal memory may still be acceptable if there is an SD card slot, but as these components are omitted on Pixel phones, we hope that the storage options will start from 128 GB.
Until now, the only peculiarity created by the rumor concerns the improvement of dual SIM functionality for future models. Current and next generation alignments include both a SIM card slot and an eSIM slot. But, these Dual SIM slots are single standby. This means that SIM and eSIM slots can not be active simultaneously. However, the new Pixel phones will be Dual SIM, Dual Standby, which solves this problem. This will essentially allow you to receive a call on one number and text on the other. Dual Watch does not allow you to make two calls or have two text messages at the same time. however. For this, a third option is needed – Dual SIM, Dual Active.

$ 899 – $ 950 |
Google has increased the prices of its handsets in small increments over the years. The base models of the original Pixel and Pixel XL models had an initial MSRP of about $ 650 and $ 769, respectively. Their third-generation successors cost $ 799 and $ 899 on their way out. This corresponds to an average price increase of about $ 50 a year.
It is logical to assume that Google will add an additional $ 50 to the MSRP of pixels 4 and 4 XL. However, we must not forget that the technology giant will also have to take into account rivals. Apple and Samsung have both included a more affordable phone in their flagship portfolio. The iPhone XR and the Samsung Galaxy S10e start at $ 750 and will be less and less expensive. This could disadvantage the smallest pixel, especially at a cost of $ 850. As such, Google could either stick to its 2018 prices, or, as we speculated earlier, put up a third, cheaper model to compete in that space.
Now let's talk about the announcement and release dates. When will Pixel 4 and 4 XL go out? It is very likely that future handsets will break the cover during the first 10 days of October, as it has been for the past three years. Google also tends to publish its phones a little less than a month after the announcement. So we should expect that they arrive on the shelves in early November at the latest.
Stay tuned for more updates on Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, as more and more information on upcoming flagships will be available!
