WASHINGTON – Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of California is suing Twitter and many of its users for more than $ 250 million, accusing them of defamation and negligence.
The defendants include two anonymous parody accounts, "Devin Nunes & Mom" and "Devin Nunes & # 39; s Cow".
The Virginia complaint accuses Twitter of "knowingly hosting and monetizing clearly abusive, hateful and defamatory content."
Article 230 of the Decency Act provides that Internet services are exempt from liability for content sent by their users.
Nunes' complaint also accuses Twitter of censoring "the points of view with which it disagrees" and "banning the conservatives".
The prohibition of shadows allows users to post freely – but no one else sees their messages. Twitter has denied having done so even though some political conservatives – including President Donald Trump – are still not convinced.
