IRVING, Texas (AP) – Police said that a woman from the Dallas area had been murdered by her two pit bulls while she was trying to feed them at a veterinary clinic where the dogs were quarantined for an earlier attack.
Irving police announced the death of Johana Villafane, 33, of Irving on Saturday in a Dallas hospital.
According to a police statement, Villafane was at the clinic Saturday morning to feed the dogs and was in a training zone when they attacked her.
Aggressive dogs prevented medical staff from quickly reaching Villafane. A policeman shot both animals and the woman was taken to the hospital where she died.
The statement did not describe the initial bite incident that had led to quarantine pit bulls.
