The Crash Team Racing remasterer brings together the same energy and caricature personality that made the PS1 game such a popular game. Developed by Beenox, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Refueled also manages to go a step further than updating the original, including more content than expected. During PAX East 2019, we ran on the various tracks of Nitro-Refueled, which included the return of some tracks found in the Nitro Kart sequel.

Sending to GameSpot at PAX, Thomas Wilson, head of the Beenox studio, described the approach taken with the remasterer and the type of content that he wanted to include in the game.

"With the name Nitro-Fueled, we wanted to see how to complete the original experience," Wilson said. "We did it by adding new tracks from Crash Nitro Kart and we decided to do it very early." We felt it was the right decision and that it was happening. to create a more complete package for Fans. "

During our practice time we were able to play on four different tracks from CTR and Nitro Kart. One of the things for which the original game was known was its difficult difficulty, and it is certainly present here. I really struggled to keep pace with my opponents, both the AI and the other players. A sudden shot fired by an enemy missile or penetrating directly into a flask of chemicals almost inevitably puts us in a deplorable state. That said, I still feel that Nitro-Fueled has managed to find the same sense of fun as the original, which was present in an updated artistic style that seems more dynamic than ever.

This remastering also includes a number of changes and revisions to the main gameplay. For example, all antigravity sections of the Nitro Kart tracks have been removed to stay consistent with the original game paths. Nitro-Fueled also offers an upgrade to the fighting mode of the original car. Having only the standard combat mode, the remasterre will also incorporate Nitro Kart cards and modes, bringing the total to 12 different combat cards with several game types, including standard combat and capture. of the flag. In our recent book Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, we expect to be a solid remastero that will revive the fast pace and fun of the original.
