Streamlabs makes its way into becoming an indispensable resource for streamers. And today, the company launches Face Masks, a new extension for Twitch viewers that allows streamers to entertain viewers with animated expressions.

Facial masks are a kind of Twitch extension that allows streamers to create emotes using animated 3D models that serve as augmented reality overlays on streamers. These emoji-type expressions can entertain viewers and serve as a benefit to channel subscribers. It's one of the many things Streamlabs does to help streamers monetize their audiences.

Streamlabs face masks are now in beta and offer 26 exclusive face masks as well as new benefits for channel subscribers. They turn some of Twitch's popular emotes into animated 3D models that viewers can apply to the viewfinder of a streamer when they buy a subscription.

"Creating new ways for streamers to interact with their audience and monetize their channel is not an easy task," said Ali Moiz, CEO of Streamlabs, in a statement. "Twitch provides a stable foundation for banner growth and the industry as a whole. As such, we are excited to extend face masks in new and innovative ways to bring more value to creators and their communities. "

In addition, viewers can now use Bits, a virtual product on Twitch that allows audiences to engage with encouragement and celebration, to interact with face masks and streamers, even if they are not subscribers.

This extensive integration of Twitch Extension, a face mask, builds on the initial success of the Streamlabs Face Mask Delivery Tool for donations. About 30% of streamers have doubled their donations since its launch in December 2018.

Twitch Extensions are live applications that help Twitch's creators customize their channel pages with inks and / or programmable and interactive panels. As such an extension, the masks will now offer new benefits and new utilities to audience members across multiple levels of Twitch subscriptions.

In addition, facial masks will give streamers the opportunity to offer more value and rewards to their subscribers by allowing them to be more entertaining and engaging and potentially increase their revenues.

Once the streamer has installed the Twitch extension of face masks, the viewer can apply an exclusive Twitch face mask using various methods:

1. Become a Level Two or Three subscriber: Level Two and Three subscribers will unlock up to 24 face masks (12 for each level). Viewers can apply a mask when they subscribe, re-enroll, or use bits for the first time.

2. Use bits: Level 2 and Level 3 subscribers will have access to all face masks that they have unlocked from their subscription for the duration of their subscription. Two exclusive Twitch face masks are available for free for all users when sending bits, regardless of their subscription status. A mask will be available for free, whether the viewer donates through the donation page of the streamers face mask or that it sends bits via extension.

"We're excited to partner with Streamlabs to give the most passionate fans of our streamers a unique way to play a role in creating the moment," said Amir Shevat, vice president of product experiences and developer at Twitch, in a statement.

Face masks are only available for Streamers using Streamlabs OBS. To be able to adhere to face masks, a Twitch partner or partner must:

1. Activate the masks on the Streamlabs OBS dashboard.
2. Install the Twitch facial mask extension.
3. In Streamlabs OBS, click the Mask Settings icon to activate the subscriber masks. In addition to the 26 exclusive masks available for the purchase of subscriptions and the sending of Bits, spectators can unlock up to 70 additional masks by making a donation with the help of the gift of the mask page. Face masks unlocked by this method will be available when using bits in the extension.
