A lighter green is back, joined by the black when the New York Jets unveiled their new logo and uniforms at Gotham Hall in downtown Manhattan.

Three new uniforms were unveiled by the team tonight at a media event hosted by actor-comedian J.B. Smoove. The usual clothes, green at home, white on the road, and now a black uniform replacing, pairing and confirming the various leaks we had seen over the past week.

The new look combines elements of the two different styles of uniforms used by the club over the past 50 years. The helmet, for example, uses a green shell as it did for twenty years in the 1970s-1980s with a black face mask, but the logo is more similar to (albeit a simplified version) of what was used in the late sixties. still here in the 2000s.

Colors officially designated as "Gotham Green", "Spotlight White" and "Stealth Black"

Although the logo looks like what the Jets have been using since 1998, there are some differences. The wordmark "JETS" now has the same size (the "J" was slightly larger before), the "NY" behind the wordmark was removed and replaced by "NEW YORK" above the word l & # 39; team. The soccer ball at the bottom of the logo has also been updated.

"Our new uniforms are designed to perform on the largest stage in the world and are inspired by the tenacity, courage and resilience of the New York area," said Neil Jets' team president. Glatt, during the inauguration. "They are designed to be both modern and innovative, and representative of our aspirations on and off the field."

"Our new colors – Gotham Green, Spotlight White and Stealth Black are crisp, bold and dynamic," continued Glatt. "Our goal with all this, defined by our property, was to help create an indisputable advantage on the ground."

"NEW YORK" on each front of the jersey, the Jets join the Cleveland Browns (at least for one season) so that the name of their city is visible on the front of their uniform. Contrasting stripes are placed on each shoulder (white on green, green on white and black), this pattern is reproduced on each leg of the pants.

"I like them, I love the headphones, the 80s (style) logo, the green, I definitely buy the black jersey," said Scott Mallery, member of the surf team Jets, "They killed the helmet, this helmet is great."

This is the first major change in the Jets' uniform or logo in 21 years, when the club unveiled its regression style in 1998.
