Nearly 25 years after leaving "Saturday Night Live", Adam Sandler will debut as a presenter.
Sandler will host "SNL" for the first time on May 4th, where he will be joined by musical guest Shawn Mendes.
The comic book, hired as a writer in 1990 before appearing in the cast from 1991 to 1995, is one of the most successful hits of all time. After leaving "SNL", he wrote and starred in some of the greatest comedies of the decade, including "Billy Madison", "Happy Gilmore", "The Waterboy" and "Big Daddy".
In 2018, Sandler released a well-received, "100% Fresh" special, which featured a tribute song to the late Chris Farley, with whom he starred on "SNL".

While regularly appearing in comedies over the last two decades, Sandler has received positive reviews in more complex roles such as "Funny People" from 2009 and "The Meyerowitz Stories (News and Selected)" of 2017.
He also played alongside Andy Samberg in a musical number for the starry episode of "SNL".
Executive producer Lorne Michaels said Sandler's return would be a "special night".
