And recently, JioSaavn and Gaana have both reduced their annual subscription prices by 70%. These cuts were aimed primarily at blocking customers for a year, moving them away from YouTube, Spotify and Apple. Recent cuts have pushed JioSaavn's premium level to 299 rupees a year, down 70 percent from 999 rupees. Meanwhile, Gaana Plus has been reduced to 298 rupees a year instead of 1098 rupees.

Apple does not disclose the number of Apple Music subscribers in India, but has 56 million subscribers worldwide.

The service was customized for the Indian market, with playlists featuring local music, including popular songs in regional languages ​​such as Malayalam and Tamil, said The Indian Express. It also has 14 localized radio stations and deals with major Indian brands such as Saregama, T series, Zee Music, YRF, Universal and Sony.
