Very discreetly, the Minnesota Twins have won four of their first five games this season, and they managed to do it by hitting only one home run. Huh.
On Friday night against the Phillies (PHI 10, MIN 4), the Twins added their second and third homers of the season, with Max Kepler and Jorge Polanco doing the honors against Nick Pivetta. The Polanco home run was part of a cycle, the first of the MLB in 2019.

Polanco had the most difficult part of the beginning. He tripled first. Polanco then singled out in the third, homer in the fifth and doubled in the seventh to complete the cycle. This is the first cycle since Charlie Blackmon had one on September 30th.

The Twins signed a $ 25.75 million contract extension with Polanco over five years before the spring training. He is a .272 / .330 / .421 hitter and went into Friday's match 6 for 21 (.286) with two doubles and a triple of the young season.
