If you've ever dreamed of seeing your favorite Nintendo characters up close and personal in virtual reality, you will not have to wait any longer to make that dream come true. On Thursday, Nintendo revealed that Super Mario Odyssey and The legend of Zelda: the breath of nature on the Switch will support the upcoming Toy-Con VR glasses, which are included in the recently announced Nintendo Labo: VR kit.
Both games will receive free software updates on April 25 to add VR modes. Nintendo describes the update for Super Mario Odyssey as a "minuscule bonus experience" in which players revisit the three realms of the original game to complete mini-missions entirely in virtual reality.
VR mode for Breath of nature seems to be much more complete, with a new setting in the options menu to activate the VR Toy-Con glasses at any time. From the video below, it looks like you can play all the game in VR. Nintendo even notes that it is not necessary to create a new backup file to play VR. So you can go there, wherever you are. When you're done, just turn off the setting.
If you want to experience two of the best games of 2017 (and two of the best Switch games to date) in virtual reality, you can purchase the Labo VR Starter Kit for $ 39.99 on April 12th. You can also purchase the full-featured VR kit on the same date, which includes six Toy-Con projects, but costs double the $ 79.99 starter kit.
