Now that Verizon's mobile 5G network is up and running, many people are wondering what its performance is. Today, speed tests have shown us what the Verizon 5G network can do.

Several speed tests performed on Verizon's 5G network show speeds as fast as 762 Mbps. In the video below, you can see Verizon spokesman David Weissman doing a speed test on the Verizon 5G in front of the American Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. You can see the speed increase as the video progresses, and at the end, the application reports a speed of 762.31 Mbit / s. It's fast.

Other speed tests have come out today, they are not as fast as this one, but they are still pretty fast. EngadgetChris Velazco ran tests and managed 592 Mbps in one test and 550 Mbps in another. At the same location as the last 5G test, a 4G LTE speed test arrived at 170 Mbps. Meanwhile, a speed test performed by CNETJessica Dolcourt finished at 634Mbps.

At the launch of its 5G network earlier this week, Verizon said customers could expect typical download speeds of 450 Mbps, all of which surpassed unabated. However, some caveats should be kept in mind when reading these speed tests, including the fact that few people currently use Verizon 5G and that the network is currently restricted to certain areas of two US cities, Chicago and Chicago. Minneapolis, although Verizon has announced plans to expand 5G coverage in more than 30 cities by 2019.

It should also be noted that Verizon currently offers only one 5G compatible smartphone, namely the Moto Z3 with the add-on 5G Moto Mod. Verizon has confirmed that it will launch the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and rumors say that it could be launched in May.

Nevertheless, it is still exciting to finally see the deployment of mobile 5G. When do you plan to jump in 5G?
