Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of nature will work with Nintendo Labo VR

OK, someone may need to pinch me. It seems like I'm dreaming. Nintendo has just announced that two of its biggest Switch games will receive support for its Labo VR headset later this month. One is Super Mario Odyssey and the other, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Nature.

It can not be right, is not it? I'm still sleeping, surely.

Both games will receive free updates by adding support on April 25th. Super Mario Odyssey will receive a new mini-mode with new challenges. From the appearance of the video below, you will play the game in the same way as other platforms of VR platforms, such as Astro Bot and Moss.

Regarding Breath of the Wild, Nintendo indicates that the entire game will be playable in VR, without cutscenes. It does not seem that the perspective changes – it will always be the third person – but you can enable and disable VR support via a menu.

It was, to say the least, unexpected news. VR Lab itself will be launched on April 12th. It's a set of cardboard peripherals that users hold up to their heads. As far as we know, there is no headband, so you should keep the kit attached to your head while you play. Still, many of us had assumed that Switch could not simply run Breath of the Wild-sized games in VR. The headset has a 720p screen and there will be no position tracking. We are still not waiting for a high-end experience.

We will have to reserve our judgment for the full exit but, for the moment, we are intriguing. Just pinch me one more time.
