Long-time production partners Will Ferrell and Adam McKay separate after more than a decade.

The duo announced the split on Saturday and insisted it was amicable. Projects produced under their Gary Sanchez banner include "Vice", "Step Brothers", "Talladega Nights" and Anchorman and Daddy's Home films. In 2014, Jessica Elbaum founded the production company Gloria Sanchez as a sister brand of Gary Sanchez Productions, focusing on women's voices in comedies.

"The last 13 years could not have been more enjoyable and satisfying for both of us at Sanchez Productions," Ferrell and McKay said in a joint statement. "We warmly thank our amazing staff and leaders, as well as all the writers, directors and actors we have worked with over the years. We will always work together creatively and will always be friends. And we recognize that we have the chance to end this business as such. "

The announcement announced that Gary Sanchez Productions and Gloria Sanchez Productions will pursue all existing projects until their completion and that all ongoing projects will continue to be developed by related producers.

"The duo is committed to creatively working together on their wide range of shared projects," he added. "They will continue to support each other, both personally and professionally, while exploring new projects and their own projects. In the future, all future projects that they could associate with will go through their upcoming new businesses. "

Ferrell and McKay jointly signed an agreement for a first three-year movie at Paramount in September 2018. Gloria Sanchez produced the strip club drama "Hustlers" for STX. McKay and Ferrell produce Netflix's "Eurovision" comedy starring Ferrell.

McKay has received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for "Vice", Best Director, and Best Match for "The Big Short".

Ferrell recently played in Sony's "Holmes & Watson" and was produced as a star in "Downhill", the Fox Searchlight remake of the 2014 Swedish film "Force Majeure".

Ferrell and McKay met while they were working on Saturday Night Live in 1995. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
