WASHINGTON – Roger Stone, former political advisor and longtime friend of President Donald Trump, has made fun of the death of former first lady Barbara Bush on Instagram after the publication of a new book making state of his critics with regard to the current president.
"She had a countdown to the presidency of @realdonaldtrump?" Stone wrote Friday on Instagram. "Well, she's dead and he's president – who won that one? Nasty, rude, vindictive, titled, important, it's the woman with whom I've had several unpleasant encounters."
Stone seemed to respond to Bush's criticisms of Trump that appeared in a biography published this month, titled "The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Constitution of an American Dynasty," by Susan Page, the director of the US bureau office from Washington, DC, today.
Excerpts from the book were published for the first time in the US TODAY'S HUI last month.
Bush accused Trump of having aggravated his long battle with congestive heart failure and chronic lung disease in the book. Bush also told Page that she "would probably say no" when asked if she still considered herself Republican.
The book also revealed that Bush had written on his ballot in 2016 in his son, Jeb Bush, who had lost the primary to Trump, and that she had left a countdown marking the end of Trump's tenure on a table next to his bed.

Stone, known for his colorful social media posts, was charged in February with seven charges, including impeded behavior and witness manipulation, as part of the vast investigation by Robert Mueller's Special Council on Electoral Meddling. of the Kremlin. He was the last individual indicted by Mueller before the end of the long investigation, concluding that the Trump campaign had not been conspired by Russia in the 2016 election, according to Attorney General William Barr .

Stone's frequent social media posts got him into trouble with a federal judge in February after posting a picture of US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson in the line of fire.
"Thanks, but the excuses sound hollow." She said to Stone after he had apologized. "There is nothing ambiguous in the line of sight."
Bush, who died a year ago this month, and his family had a tense relationship with Trump, who frequently criticized former President George W. Bush during the 2016 election campaign. Also often laughed at the former Florida governor, Jeb Bush, opponents of the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, nicknamed him "Jeb low energy".
"I'm trying not to think about it," said Barbara Bush in an interview that took place in 2018, as the first anniversary of the election of Trump. "We are a strong country, and I think everything is going well."
Stone's Friday post was the second that attacked Bush since the book's release.
Earlier this week, Stone released another photo of Bush with a caption attacking her character, calling her a "nasty, important, nasty and empowered woman."
The president also responded to Bush's criticisms outlined in the book, saying he was not surprised by his words given his role in defeating his son during the 2016 race.
"I've heard that she was mean to me, but she should be," the president told the Washington Times in an interview. "Look what I did to his sons."
Barbara Bush died last year in April at the age of 92 and her husband, former president George H. W. Bush, died in November at the age of 94.
