PAGOSA SPRINGS, CO – A 15-year-old girl from Louisiana, missing for more than a week with an elderly man, was found Friday, police said, and the suspect was taken into custody .

Domeanna Spell, from Port Barre, was last seen dropping off the school bus on March 28 at around 7 am at Port Barre High School. She reportedly fled with an older man in a silver Honda Civic in 2003, the police said.

The suspect was identified as Corey Shane Disotel, 47 years old.

Friday, Disotel and Spell were 1,165 km from his school in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, after his cell phone rang on one of the cell towers in the area, said Undersheriff Derek Woodman in the office from the sheriff of Archuleta County, Colorado.

One of the county deputies spotted the vehicle that Disotel was driving and followed in the parking lot of a local grocery store on County Center Drive, Woodman said. .

Disotel was arrested and Spell was found secure, said Port Barre police chief Deon Bordeaux.

"It was a joint effort of our agency, the FBI, the United States marshals, the state police, the St. Landry parish sheriff's office, and many other agencies and organizations working tirelessly. with fervor, "said Bordeaux. "We are really thankful that the hard work paid off and that the end result was that this girl was found safe."

Disotel is currently being held in a Colorado jail under the charge of juvenile delinquency. The FBI is also pending prosecution against Disotel.

The Archuleta County Sheriff's Office is expected to hold a press conference Monday morning.

The investigation is ongoing, the police said.
